# Smartlead Integration

> Overview of the integration between Avina and Smartlead.

## Overview

The Smartlead integration connects Avina to your Smartlead account, enabling signal-triggered cold email campaigns through Smartlead's infrastructure.

For Avina's purposes they are functionally equivalent — pick the one your team already uses and trusts for deliverability.

## Purpose

* **Enroll contacts into Smartlead campaigns** from Avina automations
* **Pull Smartlead engagement data** into Avina for signal enrichment
* **Use Smartlead as a sending platform** for AI Sequences created in Avina

## How It Works

### Write

* **Campaigns:** Avina automations can enroll contacts into Smartlead campaigns when signals fire.
* **AI Sequences:** when you create an AI Sequence in Avina with Smartlead as the sending platform, the sequence is created in Smartlead under the hood.

### Read

* Avina ingests Smartlead campaign data, including email sends, opens, replies, and bounces.
* This data feeds into signal enrichment and account context.

## Setup

1. Navigate to **Settings > Integrations** in Avina.
2. Select **Smartlead**.
3. Enter your Smartlead API key.
4. Save and verify the connection.

## Supported Actions in Automations

When building [automations](/features/automations), Smartlead supports:

* **Add to sequence:** enroll contacts into a Smartlead campaign

## Sync Behavior

* **Ongoing sync:** campaign activity syncs continuously.
* **De-duplication:** contacts are matched by email to prevent duplicates.
