# Custom AI Signal → Outbound Sequence

> Use a Custom AI Signal to catch a niche buying trigger and launch AI-drafted outbound.

## Why it works

Custom AI Signals let you codify the exact buying trigger that matters in your market — funding rounds, leadership announcements, product launches, regulatory changes, technology migrations — and turn it into a continuous pipeline of accounts. The Outbound Agent then drafts personalized outreach that references the specific trigger, so the first email reads like a human wrote it.

## Setup

1. [Create a Custom AI Signal](/signals/custom-ai-signals) with a tightly scoped prompt.
   * Example prompt: *"SaaS companies with 50–500 employees that raised Series B or later in the last 90 days. Exclude companies outside North America."*
2. Use the qualification field to tighten the results further if needed (e.g., *"Must be in cybersecurity, devtools, or data infrastructure"*).
3. [Activate the signal](/features/ai-signals-agent#preview--activate) and verify the **Preview** results look right.
4. [Create an automation](/features/automations) triggered by the Custom AI Signal.
5. Add a filter: **ICP Fit = A or B**.
6. Set the action: **Launch AI Outreach** → create or select an [AI Sequence](/features/ai-sequences) in your sending platform of choice.
7. Activate.
